Dog was at kennel door, neutral body, still tail, handler fed a few treats through door, soft wag, handler prepared leash and unlocked door as dog repeatedly jumped up at door, handler tossed treats but dog showed no interest, paused as handler reached in leash but jumped up and got front leg stuck through loop, stood at doorway and allowed handler to reach in and adjust leash, holding up front paw. Exited kennel, jumped up once on handler, strong pull to yard. In yard dog jumped up on handler 3-4 times, panting, overaroused. Dog would disengage to go sniff yard, return to handler with loose body, jumping up, handler could get dog to settle with treats and petting, once handler stopped petting dog would jump up again and resume exploring yard. Handler sat on bench and dog approached, sat in front of them and allowed petting, still panting heavily, would jump up then walk away, dog would go to door and jump up repeatedly at doorway, then turn and run up to handler, handler able to intervene with treats before dog attempted to jump, offered toys but dog showed no interest. Handler walked around yard, dog following at their side, handler feeding treats to reinforce calmer behavior. Dog still showed high arousal and would jump up at handler periodically, struggled to settle in yard, handler sat on bench and pet dog for a few more minutes, dog able to stay calm as handler pet them, ran to door as handler stood and walked over, jumping up at door, handler picked up leash, dog had strong pull back to kennel, walked in easily and began eating treats left in kennel, allowed leash removal by hand.

Out for Purple training w/ volunteer. Dog was affiliative, eager to come out, fairly easily leashed, firm but manageable pull. Jumped on handlers several times in yard. Handlers were knelt down, dog was taking turns engaging/prompting petting from each. Dog bounced up at handler, closed mouth collision with her face that resulted in a split lip from the impact. Handler was able to refocus & settle dog using treats. He did jump up several more times during time out of kennel but handlers avoided kneeling, managed behavior much more comfortably. On his return he went right back into kennel, leash removed by hand.
