Julio
County ID A5169206
Deadline: Thursday, September 3.
Julio is a low-key two-year-old who would rather lounge in the sun than do much of anything else. Someone found him on a Phoenix street corner in late July, and nobody came looking. Now he has a respiratory infection that needs treatment outside the shelter, and he has seven days.

What the shelter has seen
- Found as a stray, walked nicely on leash in the shelter lobby
- Saw a small dog at the vet when finder had him scanned for a chip—no reaction
- In the yard finds a sunny spot, lies down, comes when called for treats and a little petting
- Takes treats gently, walks on a loose leash, ignores dogs in nearby kennels
- Wearing a cone after neuter made him hesitant and harder to read early on, but has been calm and solicited attention once settled
What Julio needs
A quiet home with older kids at most, a slow introduction to the household, and a foster who can manage his medical care until he's well. He's listed as urgent medical with a September 3rd deadline.
Everything here comes from Julio’s Maricopa County Animal Care and Control record. We leave out the parts that belong between the shelter, the rescue and the vet, and we do not soften what a dog needs. If something changes at the shelter, this page changes with it.
