Pepperoni is a seven-year-old pittie mix who showed up hurt and alone, and the shelter has been kind to him, but his respiratory disease is not clearing and time just ran out. He is sweet with handlers, gentle enough to lean his whole self into your lap, and he got along fine with big dogs before he landed here.

What the shelter has seen
- Found stray after one day, came in limping on back right leg, had gotten along with the finder's Great Dane and Labradoodle.
- Easily startled at first but leans into handlers for pets and belly rubs, sits for treats, walks on a loose leash most of the time.
- Bolts out open doors if not leashed first, kept free roam in a room before intake, pulls some on walks.
- Has a persistent respiratory illness and is on urgent medical with six days to find an outlet.
What Pepperoni needs
A foster who can manage an escape artist at doorways and who understands this is a senior dog with a medical condition that will need care and monitoring. He is not a quick flip, he is a commitment.
