Messiah was found as a stray, passed through a family for a year and a half, then dumped on someone who kept him three days before surrender. He came in shut down with fear, but handlers have watched him thaw: now he greets them at the kennel door, plays fetch, leans in for scratches. He has chronic skin disease that will need ongoing veterinary management.

What the shelter has seen
- Carried a stuffed toy around the play yard and brought it back to handlers
- Knows sit, takes treats gently, pulled on leash when excited but walked loose leash when calm
- House-trained, went potty in the yard immediately, solicited affection from handlers once he relaxed
- Barked at a nearby dog during play yard time
- Arrived scared—trembling, wide eyes, wouldn't come forward at first—but has opened up considerably since intake
What Messiah needs
Messiah is New Hope Only and must be pulled by a partner rescue no later than September 20. He needs a foster who can manage his skin condition long-term and help him continue building confidence in a quiet home. No other dogs without careful introduction.
