Ms Silly
County ID A5170246
Deadline: Tuesday, September 1.
Ms Silly was found running scared in the streets and brought to a finder who reported no problems, but the shelter terrifies her. She shuts down hard in her kennel and has shown alarm barking, air snapping, and body language that says she is overwhelmed past what she can handle. Outside the kennel she wants connection and will seek out a person, but she is so rattled that sudden sounds or movements send her into a panic.

What the shelter has seen
- Finder reported she was good with an 11-year-old, a 16-year-old, young puppies, and cats during the few days they had her
- At the shelter she pancakes to the back of her kennel, trembles, and has lunged with air snaps when handlers kneel down
- Once outside she follows handlers around, leans in for attention, and jumps up for pets with a soft body, but flinches hard when startled by sudden movement or sound
- Will approach when called and soften after freezing, but tenses up again when touched on the body
What Ms Silly needs
This is not a beginner's dog and we will not pretend otherwise. She needs someone who understands fear-based reactivity, can give her the time and space to decompress without pressure, and will not startle her while she learns the world is not as dangerous as it feels right now. Ms Silly is New Hope Only and must be pulled by a qualified partner rescue by close of business September 1st.
Everything here comes from Ms Silly’s Maricopa County Animal Care and Control record. We leave out the parts that belong between the shelter, the rescue and the vet, and we do not soften what a dog needs. If something changes at the shelter, this page changes with it.
