Becky is a seven-year-old shepherd mix carrying fear she can't quite set down. She warmed to one handler in the yard—sitting close, accepting touch all over, following with soft eyes—but a second person triggered alarm and a snap at the fence. She needs someone who understands that fear and reactivity are not the same as aggression, but they are still serious.

What the shelter has seen
- Came in with another dog on August 22, intake circumstances unknown
- Showed tension in her kennel, but softened and sat quietly for petting once in a yard with a patient handler
- Alarm-barked and air-snapped at a second person approaching, wary even after initial softening
- Walked on leash with pulling and some environmental startle, tucked tail loosening up away from other dogs
What Becky needs
Experienced handler only, no other dogs, slow introductions to new people, and space to decompress without pressure. This is not a beginner's dog and we will not pretend otherwise. New Hope Only—Becky must be pulled by a registered rescue partner by September 2.
