Boomer
County ID A5170578
Deadline: Wednesday, September 9.
Boomer is a two-year-old pit bull mix who is shutting down hard in the shelter. He is so afraid that he trembles, won't move, and can barely look at people. Somewhere under all that terror is a dog who might learn to trust again, but he cannot do it here.

What the shelter has seen
- Retreats to the back of his kennel when people approach, body trembling, tail tucked tight
- Will not take treats or come forward with coaxing—stays frozen in place, head down, watching from the corners of his eyes
- Allowed light petting when a handler sat quietly beside him in the yard, but his whole body stayed tense and his skin crawled at the touch
What Boomer needs
Boomer is New Hope Only and must be pulled by a partner rescue by close of business September 9th. He needs an experienced foster home with no expectations, no pressure, and time measured in months. This is not a beginner's dog and we will not pretend otherwise.
Everything here comes from Boomer’s Maricopa County Animal Care and Control record. We leave out the parts that belong between the shelter, the rescue and the vet, and we do not soften what a dog needs. If something changes at the shelter, this page changes with it.
