Behavior evaluations

Written by handlers, dated, in their words.

9/14/2026

Soft wiggly body on approach of kennel, easy leash placement. K9 walks well on leash. K9 is potty trained so took out to play yard to potty. K9 urinated for a long time and defecated 3 times. Walked well back to clinic. K9 was held in hug restraint with muzzle placed (this was only as precaution due to area where sutures were being removed) k9 had no reaction to lower eye-lid suture removal. K9 wagged tail entire interaction. Once suture removal was done, muzzle removed. K9 got zoomies in clinic, played fetch with toys. Allowed e-collar replacement with no issues. Seeked attention from mulitple handlers, jumped up for attention but was verbally corrected without issue. Easy return to kennel, leash removed by hand.

9/13/2026

Dog was standing @ kennel gate with a relaxed body while demand barking. Presented leash & leashed over e-collar without issues. Walked with a moderate pull on leash to J-yard. Would have a long shake off of body then would explore PY with nose to ground. Would jump up then start to muzzle punch handlers stomach with a closed mouth, handler was able to straight arm leash while waiting for dog to settle then dropped leash. Dog would jump up then start to muzzle punch towards assistant handlers body, handler was able to pick up leash & walk dog away. Dropped leash once dog would settle, dog would approach handler, allowed petting on side of body, would again start to jump up. Handler would pick up leash as dog would jump up & push off against handlers body, dog would start to air snap towards leash not making contact of leash. Once dog would settle, handler would walk dog out of PY while having a moderate pull on leash back to building. Entered into S-wing & into kennel room without issues. Entered into kennel & allowed handler to remove leash by hand without issues.

Handler was asked to move dog to S wing. Dog was standing with front two on window demand barking at staff standing outside of room not engaging with dog. Handler approached and spoke to dog; dog got off window and stood on floor; could see tail nub wagging; stopped barking; panting and drooling. Handler cracked open door and allowed dog to sniff leash; no reaction; tried placing large loop over cone with door mostly closed but unable to; used sort board only as a way to block doorway so handler could leash without dog dashing out. Once leashed, dog exited room with mild pull; followed handler down hallway; mild pull on leash down hallway; bumping into walls and floor with cone; attached clip lead; entered into new kennel with no issue; removed leash using clip lead; got stuck for a moment on cone but dog stood patiently at door.

9/11/2026

When closing the building for the night handler and second handler cracked open the door, dog was low growling, handler then shut door and dog was growling through window. Had another handler come and pulled the dog and was friendly with them, as soon as dog came out dog was thrashing and lip curled at handler, handler then tried to use light leash pressure dog was observed air snapping at handlers hand.

9/3/2026

Neutral body and tail as handler approached, not interested in treats offered but came forward to sniff handler with some wagging tail. Allowed for easy leash placement at front of kennel over e-collar, exited with easy leash pull, wary of surroundings and startled by reactive dogs in passing on way to "J" yard but once away from dogs and approaching parking lot dog shook off, had soft body and wagging tail rest of way to yard. Once in yard dog began urinating for a long duration of time before coming to handler for attentions with wiggly body and wagging tail, some high energy, allowed petting all over. Some jumping up onto handler but easy to direct off, would follow handler to chair and begin leaning in for pets, accepting pets all over. A little grabby with treats. Followed handler around yard with soft body throughout, solciits attentions whenever handler stops. Easy return to kennel, startled by reactive dogs in passing, walked into kennel on own and allowed handler to remove leash by hand.
