Evelyn was found with another dog in late August and has been winding tighter in her kennel ever since. In the yard with her handler she softens—leans in, sits for treats, lets you run your hands over her. But walking the shelter hallways with dogs barking from every kennel, she is a live wire.

What the shelter has seen
- Leans into her handler in the yard, soft body, takes treats gently, allows petting all over
- Explores with her nose to ground, follows her handler to the gate
- Growls, lunges, and snaps at other dogs through fences and on walks—hackles raised, body tense, pulling hard toward them
What Evelyn needs
Evelyn needs an experienced handler who understands dog reactivity and can give her the space and structure to decompress away from other dogs. This is not a beginner's dog and we will not pretend otherwise. She is New Hope Only and must be pulled by a registered partner rescue by end of business September 13th.
