Scout is a young chocolate husky who loves people and knows his basics, but he cannot be left alone without destroying what's around him. His previous family surrendered him when they moved to a place that couldn't take the damage. He's affectionate and handler-focused in the yard, but the separation anxiety that cost him his first home is still with him.

What the shelter has seen
- Came in on anxiety medication after seven months in a home where he chewed walls, doors, carpet, tile, and furniture when left alone.
- Sat on cue in the yard, took treats gently, leaned into petting, carried a tennis ball, chased a frisbee, and walked back to the kennel with light leash pressure.
- Good with kids and little dogs in his previous home, knows sit and lay down, house-trained, leash-trained, uses a dog door.
- Has a chicken allergy and needs a special diet. Gets carsick.
What Scout needs
This is not a beginner's dog. Scout needs an experienced handler who understands separation anxiety, can manage serious destruction, commit to behavior modification work, and keep him on a chicken-free diet. Scout is New Hope Only and must be pulled by a partner rescue no later than 5:30 a.m. on September 15th.
