What the shelter has seen
- Found running loose two weeks ago; finder tried to locate her owner but couldn't, brought her in
- Sat calmly with handlers in the yard, leaned into petting, nudged their hands for more attention
- Pulls hard on leash, guards toys from dogs and people, growled at unfamiliar men and barked at large dogs from a distance
- Played gently with young children (ages 3 and 6) and did fine with small dogs in a home
- Shuts down in the kennel — anxious, foamy drool, bouncing off walls, can't settle
What Chika Matic needs
Chika needs a foster home with no other dogs, no cats, and an experienced handler who understands fearful, high-energy young dogs with guarding issues. This is not a beginner's dog and we will not pretend otherwise. She is New Hope Only and must be pulled by a partner rescue by end of business September 14.
