Behavior evaluations

Written by handlers, dated, in their words.

10/12/2026

Dog was lying down in kennel while being curled in a ball & taking deep breaths while trembling body. Opened kennel gate while speaking softly, dog would stand up, able to leash without issues while dog would lower head, being whale eyed. Slowly picked up without issues. While being carried to small PY, dog would continue to tremble body. Placed onto ground. Dog would stand in same spot throughout time in PY, keeping tail slightly tucked under body, whale eyed, licking lips & trembling body. Each time handler would approach dog, dog would look away & tuck tail under body tighter while making crying sounds & licking lips with ears shifting further back or fully flattening. Was not interested in treats or toys. Handler pick up dog & place onto lap, dogs body felt tense while doing intense skin crawling when being pet, continued to avoid any eye contact. Carried back to kennel, removed leash then placed back into kennel without issues. Dog would quickly retreat to back corner of kennel, would lay down into a ball & tucked head into side of body while trembling.

10/11/2026

Hunched over body, wide eyed, tail tucked in back of corner on approach, slight trembling in back legs, no interest in treats or coaxing. Side eyeing handler when placing leash, slight dodging of leash but no issues placing large loop over dogs head. Whale eye, tense bodied, yawning when petting, no issues draping towel over and carrying to m&g room. Placed dog down and dog retreated to wall quickly, froze in place remainder of evaluation with tense trembling body, tail tucked, heavy wide mouth panting and wide eyed, little eye contact with handler. No interest in treats offered or tossed near, yawning and lip licking every couple moments. Tolerated petting on head but did not seek out attentions, turn to look away from handler with head lowered. Let dog have a few moments, able to drape towel over and carry back to kennel with no issues. Removed leash by hand.
